About Us
Founded in 2009 by a trio of local pet owners, Metro Mutts began as a neighborhood pet supply store that quickly expanded to a second location. After observing that customers needed support and care for their pets when they were away from home, the founding partners began offering dog walking and cat sitting services. Although after 7 years the retail stores were closed, Pet Services continued to thrive. In 2018, the original owners passed the torch to their long-time Pet Services Manager, Darnita Brown.
Meet Darnita!
Darnita is a Washington, DC native with a passion for working with animals, that was cultivated at a young age. She forged an 11 year career in private industry overseeing many aspects of animal care operations. After leaving that industry, she found a home with Metro Mutts. After several years helping manage and grow the business, bringing in top notch staff and developing lasting relationships with clients, she now continues the Metro Mutts legacy as owner.
