Our Policies

Keys/Access

Metro Mutts will maintain a visibly marked lockbox at each residence for key access unless otherwise provided via a key pad, owner’s lockbox, or front desk.

Visit Timing

All visit times include arrival to your house/building and departure from your house/ building. Any cleanup needed or delays with access may affect the time spent with your pet.

Cancellations

Late cancellations made after 6 pm the day prior will be charged the full visit rate.

Adding Additional Visits

We ask for 48 hours advanced notice for scheduling and we will do our best to accommodate all requests. There will be a $3.00 charge for same day requests received after 6pm the day before.

Inclement Weather

 If the Federal Government or DC Public Schools close, all visits will be cancelled. Only previously scheduled vacation pet care visits will be conducted. When DC activates a Heat Emergency, we will shorten all Midday walks to 15 minute walks and adjust all rates, and we will use our discretion for AM or PM services.  We will use our discretion when any other weather advisories are activated. We will make same day notifications of changes to clients through the scheduling system.  

Holidays

There is a $10 surcharge per Metro Mutts observed holiday. Certain holidays also include the surcharge for the surrounding weekend.

Substitutions for Regular Recurring Visits

As needed, if your primary walker is unavailable, a substitute Metro Mutts team member will provide coverage. The sub will do his/her best to adhere to preferred time frames, but may arrive a little earlier or later than usual due to also covering his/her own schedule.
